Go Red for Women

Longview Radiologists was proud to support the Go Red For Women campaign throughout February, collecting donations used to generate awareness for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in women.

Established by the American Heart association after the disease claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 American women in 2004, the staff at Longview Radiologists enthusiastically wore red t-shirts in support of this worthwhile cause every Friday during the month of February.

All funds were collected through a donation box in our lobby and one hundred percent of the proceeds were passed on to the American Heart Association to fund research, education and community programs that directly benefit women.

Often dismissed as an “old man’s” illness, cardiovascular disease is the number-one killer of women, according to information published by the American Heart Association. The funds we raised contributed to the advancement of women’s understanding on the importance of heart health and supported continuing research and related scientific studies. The data obtained from these studies is then crafted into literature and other educational tools used by healthcare providers and decision-makers throughout the country.
